CONSTRUCTION OF A GAS PEDAL BUILDING, A HEAVY ION PRODUCTION UNIT AND EXPERIMENTAL ROOMS FOR RESEARCH INTO EXOTIC RADIOACTIVE NUCLEI.
GANIL (Grand Accélérateur National d'Ions Lourds) is currently one of the four major ion beam research laboratories in the world. In order to host the European exotic nuclei factory project called EURISOL, GANIL has built a nuclear building.
The SPIRAL2 facility, or Système de Production d'Ions Radioactifs Accélérés en Ligne, is a nuclear building, largely buried under nuclear ventilation, with C4, C3 and C2 confinements. It is composed of a gas pedal unit, a heavy ion production unit and experimental rooms for research on exotic radioactive nuclei.
The project is being carried out under complete project management, from the preliminary design studies to assistance with acceptance and installation operations.
